This is the first of a series, 'Vatta's War', by Elizabeth Moon and I will definitely be looking up the rest of the series. The main character Ky is engaging and believable and the storyline seems to have a very wide scope, I already want to know what happens next. I have read a couple of this author's fantasy works before but had never got round to her sci-fi, what a shame. At least I am there now.
