'Trading In Danger' by Elizabeth Moon

This is the first of a series, 'Vatta's War', by Elizabeth Moon and I will definitely be looking up the rest of the series. The main character Ky is engaging and believable and the storyline seems to have a very wide scope, I already want to know what happens next. I have read a couple of this author's fantasy works before but had never got round to her sci-fi, what a shame. At least I am there now. This will be staying on my shelf for re-reading.

'Flipping Out' by Marshall Karp

I think I really picked this up because the quote on the cover said something about it being like the best of Janet Evanovich and I figured I could do with a good laugh. It was indeed funny but nowhere near the realms of falling off the sofa bacause you can't breathe because you are laughing so much. I actually found that the introductions to the characters seemed really fast so I kept getting confused about who was who. All in all, quite good fun and I wouldn't rule out reading more by a long chalk but I won't go out of my way to search out this author.
