I expected to enjoy this much more than I actually did seeing as I am normally blown away by most mountaineering books. The stories that were explored in this books were extraordinary and very inspirational but the style in which they were written just annoyed me. I felt that all the focus of the author was on the deaths and any media hype and controversy which detracted from the huge achievements of the women involved. Any positive points seemed to be baldly stated and skipped over very quickly before running back to the gossip about bad feelings and media focus. The stories also seemed very jumbled and jumped around quite a lot. I don't think I will quickly choose to read another book by this author even though there were a lot of facts and stories packed into this title.
