'Into Thin Air' by Jon Krakauer

This was a re-read for me, I think for the third time, so that should tell you already that I really like this book. It is a very harrowing tale but full of emotion and dramatic action. Even when you know what happens your heart is in your mouth and your eyes tear up. After reading Ed Viestur's book I had to re-read this to refresh my memory of the disaster that was touched on in Ed's book. I'm sure I will be picking it up again in a couple of years if not before.

'No Shortcuts To The Top' by Ed Viesturs

REALLY enjoyed this book! Full of the real emotions experiences by climbers and others associated with high altitude expeditions this was fun, enthralling and very inspiring. Ed's modest and down to earth observations and thoughts revealed so much about himself and the world of mountaineers. I couldn't put this down and was cheering him on as he steadily worked towards his immense goal. Very glad to have my faith in mountaineering tales more than completely resored by this book. Well worth your time even if you have no intention of ever attempting a summit, I'm sure that you will want to meet this man after reading it!
